First night in Yellowstone.

The ride yesterday to Yellowstone was short in distance but long in time. The route was absolutely stunning. We took the Chief Joseph scenic highway from Cody to the Beartooth Road into the northeast entrance of Yellowstone. There lots of scenic overlooks, so we stopped frequently, then just before the park there was about a 30 minute delay for road work.

We planned on camping in the Indian Creek campground. I asked the ranger @ the gate if it still had openings, he told me to check the sign up ahead. A quick check showed available camp sites. So we proceded to the campground. It took about 1.5 hours to get there, by the time we arrived it was full. Son we turned around and rode back to the Mammoth camp, as we approached the sign, the ranger was putting up the "Full" sign. I ask him if they had a a spot for just one tent, and he said I have Motorcycle tent space left, just pull up to the stationa and I'll be right there. That was an answer tp prayer, because all of the other campsites were atleast an hour away.

The camp is very nice. Bathroom just up the hill from our site and shower about a mile away @ the Mammoth Hotel.

There was a very nice couple in the site next to us. They're from NJ and have been on the road the same amount of time as we have. They're riding a BMW dual sport, and have been riding trails and non-paved roads(about 700-800.miles a day.

We had a heard of elk come right up to our camp just before sunset. There were lots of babies, but no bull elk.

We went to a evening program with a ranger, he did an hour talk about Bison.

Well that's all for now. No pictures this time, no access.

Got a fire going and getting ready to wake up Zach.
