What a great day. I tried to update last night but the site was down.
Started out with heavy fog and intermitent rain.
First stop the Badlands. I can't count the number of time I heard Zach say "That's awesome" or "That's the coolest thing I've ever seen". Zach took a lot of pics, I have to post later, doing this from the phone.
We then went to the National Minuteman Park. It's a ICBM missile silo the was operational 4 years ago.
On our way to Rapid City we rode past an Air Force base. We had a B-1 bomber circle over us several time on it"s approach. Then we were just off the end of the runway as it landed. It was very low over us as we crossed paths.
We made it to Hill City, the Rafter J Ranch campground will be our home for 2 nights. The tent is pitched and sleeps well.
We went to the Crazy Horse monument last night. They have cool lazer light show just before 10.
It's a little cool this morning, gonna build fire, wake Zach up. Then they have a pancake breakfast over by the office.
Were off to do a Blackhills loop. Needles Hwy, Custer St park, Iron mountain road, Rushmore, Deadwood, Lead, Spearfish, Sturgis, then back here.
I try to upload some pictures later.
